Cutting Pad Materials
Cutting pads are auxiliary tools used in hand cutting, carving, and other crafts to protect the work surface and extend the life of tools. The choice of material is crucial, affecting the pad's durability, user experience, and protection of cutting tools.

Common cutting pad materials include:

1. Rubber: Rubber cutting pads are highly elastic, soft, and tear-resistant. They leave no scratches when used, making them particularly suitable for delicate cutting work that requires protecting the surface of crafts.

2. Plastic: Plastic cutting pads are typically made from compressed polyethylene or other plastic granules, resulting in high density and strength. These pads are relatively inexpensive, can be custom-sized, and are suitable for general-weight cutting and measuring tasks.

3. Cardboard: Cardboard cutting pads are easy to process and use, and are affordable. They are very popular among artists and craft enthusiasts, especially suitable for situations requiring frequent replacement and rapid cutting.

4. PVC: PVC is a transparent, rigid plastic commonly used to make high-end cutting pads. Its transparency allows for clear visibility of the material underneath during cutting, facilitating precise measurement and cutting. Simultaneously, PVC pads resist severe scratches and cuts, and are not easily deformed or softened over long-term use.

Wire Saw Pad Material

Wire saw pads are auxiliary tools used for precise cutting with a wire saw, and their material selection is crucial for protecting the wire saw and improving work efficiency.

Unlike cutting pads, wire saw pads may need to withstand higher friction and tensile forces, therefore their materials are often harder and have enhanced tensile strength. For example, some high-end wire saw pads may incorporate materials such as diamond, silicon carbide (SiC), and zirconium dioxide (ZrO2) to improve performance.
1. Diamond: As one of the hardest substances in nature, diamond can greatly enhance the wear resistance and breaking strength of wire saw pads. By controlling the proportion of diamond added, the performance and service life of the wire saw pad can be further optimized.
2. Silicon Carbide (SiC): SiC possesses stable chemical properties, high thermal conductivity, and good wear resistance. Adding SiC to wire saw pads can further enhance their tensile strength and service life, making the wire saw more stable and efficient during operation.

3. Zirconia (ZrO2): ZrO2 is a high-performance ceramic material with high hardness, high strength, and good wear resistance. Adding an appropriate amount of ZrO2 to wire saw pads can improve the overall performance of the pads, especially in resisting the high temperatures and friction generated during cutting.
